On January 13, 2024, the Verti Music Hall in Berlin experienced an unforgettable evening of boxing that was characterized by emotion, excitement and thrilling fights. As one of the four main sponsors of the event, qdc® GmbH was proud to be part of this extraordinary event, which attracted over 2,500 spectators to the sold-out hall.
The focus of the evening was on two high-caliber fights: the rematch between Ronny Gabel and Ilias Essaoudi for the WBO Europe title and the fight between Fabiana Bytyqi and Tina Rupprecht for the WBC Women’s World Atomweight Championship. The atmosphere was electrifying and the spectators were treated to an evening full of drama and thrilling boxing action.
Tina Rupprecht’s impressive performance and more accurate punches saw her crowned the new WBC World Champion. Her fight against Fabiana Bytyqi was a prime example of women’s boxing at the highest level and showed the fighting spirit and determination required in this sport.
However, the evening was not only characterized by victories. Ronny Gabel bid farewell to the boxing stage with an emotional fight. Despite his defeat on points, the mutual appreciation between him and his opponent Ilias Essaoudi was palpable. Both athletes celebrated this intense boxing match as respectful athletes, and the emotions were palpable – both in the ring and in the audience.
SES promoter Ulf Steinforth summed up the evening aptly: “A wonderful evening of boxing! It had everything that makes this sport so special: excitement, drama and emotion, from the thrill of victory to tears of emotion. With Tina Rupprecht, Germany once again has a world champion who put on a highly exciting fight with great fighting spirit and great boxing. Ronny Gabel deserves this great evening. Even though he was not able to win his last fight, the glow over this fight was the great emotion. qdc® GmbH from Chemnitz looks back with pleasure on one of the biggest 24-hour mountain bike races in Germany: the Heavy24! This exciting event, which was launched in 2007, took place from June 13 to 16, 2024 at the Rabenstein reservoir in Chemnitz.
The Heavy24 was not just a race, but an entire cycling festival that lasted several days and had something for everyone. We at qdc were proud to take part in this event and enter the race with two teams of 6 – plus there were plenty of opportunities to get involved and be part of this great experience.
The event kicked off on Friday, June 14, 2024, with the setting up of the team camp and a warm-up party with good music, cold drinks and delicious food. This all happened after the participants were able to relax at the reservoir and go on a leisurely bike ride in and around Chemnitz. Not to forget, the starting documents were handed out from 4 p.m. so that everyone was well prepared.
Saturday then became the highlight of the event: shortly before 11 a.m., the final meetings took place before the 24-hour race officially started at 12 noon. The atmosphere was electric as the participants took on the challenge.
On Sunday, the final hours of the race were upon us, during which the participants had to grit their teeth and give it their all. The race ended at 12 noon sharp. But that wasn’t all! The “Beats & Bikes” after-race party brought the event to a fitting conclusion before all participants and spectators headed back home.
We are already looking forward to next year, because we will be back at the start in 2025! The dates from June 12 to 15, 2025 are already marked in the calendar.
We’ve tasted blood in 2024 and will be lining up with 33 riders in 2025 and want to compete in every category. We are planning two 1, 4 and 6-person teams as well as a 2 and 8-person team. We hope that many of you will be there again, whether on the bike or as spectators! -> chain on the right

After the Schlosscarré Business Brunch was successfully held three times on the premises of qdc®, the participating companies wanted to organize a joint summer party for the Schlosscarré. With this event, we want to end the working day in a cozy atmosphere with coffee and cake and get to know our direct neighbors.

How?
Each participating company provides a cake. The cakes are eaten and judged together. The tastiest and the most visually appealing cake will receive the coveted Schlosscarré cake trophy.
